NASA's Artemis 2 Rocket Launcher Endures Soaking Water Deluge Test

NASA conducted a water flow test on the mobile launcher for the Artemis 2 mission, which will carry astronauts around the moon in late 2024. The test verified the overpressure protection and sound suppression system, with 400,000 gallons of water rushing onto the launch pad during liftoff to protect the rocket, spacecraft, mobile launcher, and launch pad. The Artemis 2 mission is part of NASA's Artemis program, aiming to put boots on the moon with Artemis 3 in 2025 or 2026.
