Russian Cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko Breaks World Record for Most Time Spent in Space

Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko has set a new world record for the most time spent in space, surpassing his compatriot Gennady Padalka with over 878 days and 12 hours. Celebrating the achievement aboard the International Space Station, Kononenko expressed pride in his accomplishments and emphasized his love for space exploration. Currently on his fifth space mission, he is set to become the first person to spend 1000 days in space on June 5, 2023, and will have spent 1,110 days in space by the end of his current expedition in September. Despite the challenges of isolation, Kononenko remains connected to his family through video calls and regular exercises.
