NASA has re-established contact with its Ingenuity helicopter on Mars after an unexpected communication outage during its 72nd test flight. The tiny drone, which arrived on Mars in 2021, has exceeded expectations by covering over 10 miles and reaching altitudes of up to 79 feet. The agency is reviewing new data to understand the communication dropout and assess whether Ingenuity can fly again, as it continues to assist the Perseverance rover in searching for signs of ancient microbial life on the red planet.
