Time Machine Unveils Ancient Galaxy Structures

Astronomers used ALMA, combined with JWST and Hubble, to peer back to about 1 billion years after the Big Bang, revealing detailed structures in early galaxies, including star-forming regions and cold gas distributions, which shed light on galaxy formation and evolution. The survey identified unique galaxies like CRISTAL-13 and CRISTAL-10, providing insights into the conditions of the early universe and the processes that led to modern galaxies like the Milky Way.
