California Rocket Launch Sparks Rare Night-Shining Clouds Over Texas

A rocket launch in California led to the formation of rare noctilucent clouds, also known as 'meteor smoke' clouds, visible in Texas. These clouds form in the mesosphere, much higher than typical clouds, and glow by catching sunlight before sunrise and after sunset.
