Asteroid Armageddon: Multiple Massive Rocks Racing Towards Earth

NASA has issued a warning about a 150-foot asteroid, designated as Asteroid 2023 OD5, which is expected to make a close approach to Earth today. While it will come close, it is not expected to impact the surface. The asteroid will pass by Earth at a distance of around 5.3 million kilometers and belongs to the Aten group of Earth-crossing Near-Earth Asteroids. NASA has already tested a method of asteroid diversion and has missions in place for early warning systems. Although no asteroid is expected to impact Earth in the next 100 years, countermeasures for planetary defense remain important.
