Hubble photos now free of satellite trails with new tool.

A new algorithm has been developed by the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) to remove satellite trails from images captured by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. Despite the increasing number of artificial satellites brightening the night sky and photobombing telescope images, the study found that not one Hubble science program has been affected by satellite trails. The algorithm is efficient at erasing even weak trails that are hard to see with the naked eye, and the team is confident that they can remove the effect of satellite contamination in telescope images.
