"NASA Unearths Rare Galactic Fossil"

NASA scientists have discovered X-ray activity in the nearby spiral galaxy NGC 4945, shedding light on the evolution of galaxies. The activity, which outlines giant clouds of cold gas, is believed to have resulted from a black hole eruption some 5 million years ago. This finding provides insight into the influence of supermassive black holes compared to the effects of star formation in galaxy evolution. The discovery was made possible through data collected by the ESA satellite XMM-Newton and NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory.
