"Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2023: Captivating Discoveries and Stellar Winners"

Marcel Drechsler, Xavier Strottner, and Yann Sainty have been named "Astronomy Photographer of the Year" for their image, Andromeda, Unexpected, which showcases a surprising discovery of a vast plasma arc next to the Andromeda Galaxy. Two 14-year-old photographers from China, Runwei Xu and Binyu Wang, won the Young Astronomy Photographer of the Year award for their image, The Running Chicken Nebula. The winning images, along with other category winners, will be displayed at the National Maritime Museum in London.
