Weekend Storm Threatens Eastern US with Severe Weather and Heavy Snow

A developing storm system is expected to bring severe weather, heavy snow, and heavy rain to the eastern half of the U.S. this weekend. The exact impact and precipitation type will depend on the development of a surface low, but severe thunderstorms with tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail are possible in the South. Widespread rain is expected from the Gulf Coast to New England, with the potential for strong winds in the New York City tri-state area.
