"National Emergency Extended to Counter Foreign Interference in US Elections"

President Biden has announced the continuation of the national emergency declared in 2018 regarding foreign interference in or undermining public confidence in United States elections. While there is no evidence of foreign powers altering election outcomes, the proliferation of digital devices and internet-based communications has increased vulnerabilities. The unauthorized accessing of election infrastructure and the distribution of propaganda and disinformation remain significant threats. The national emergency will continue for another year, as declared in Executive Order 13848.
