AI's Chest Analysis Reveals Your True Age

Scientists at Osaka Metropolitan University have developed an advanced AI model that accurately estimates a patient's chronological age by analyzing chest radiographs. The AI model showed a strong correlation between estimated age and chronological age, paving the way for improved early disease detection and intervention. The study also found that a higher AI-estimated age compared to chronological age was positively correlated with various chronic diseases, such as hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The researchers aim to further develop this research to estimate the severity of chronic diseases, predict life expectancy, and forecast surgical complications.
