Grandmother Denied COVID Vaccine for Grandkids at CVS

A grandmother in Wake County, North Carolina, was turned away by CVS when she tried to get her grandsons, aged 6 and 9, their latest COVID-19 vaccine. Despite having Medicaid coverage, she was told she would have to pay $190.99 each for the shots. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services stated that children with Medicaid can receive the vaccine for free at local health departments or Vaccines for Children Program-enrolled providers, but pharmacies are not currently part of the program. The grandmother expressed her concern for her grandkids' safety, especially with the surge of respiratory viruses among children.
