Michigan paper mill shuts down due to fungal infection outbreak.

A paper mill in Michigan will close for up to three weeks for cleaning after at least 21 cases of blastomycosis, a fungal infection, were confirmed among workers since March. The illness is related to a fungus that grows in moist soil and decomposing wood and leaves. The mill will undergo deep cleaning, vent inspections, filter replacements, and tests on raw materials. The company said an industrial outbreak of the fungus has not been documented anywhere in the US.
