Supreme Court Justices Clash in Warhol Copyright Case.

Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor traded jabs in a copyright case involving Andy Warhol and Prince. Kagan took issue with Sotomayor's majority opinion and suggested readers trust their "good judgment" rather than Sotomayor's "fistfuls of comeback footnotes." Kagan and Chief Justice John Roberts were the only justices who didn't rule in favor of music photographer Lynn Goldsmith's claim that the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts improperly licensed a work by the famous pop artist which used a photograph of the late musician Prince taken by Goldsmith.
