CDC Expands Investigation of Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Charcuterie Meats

The CDC has expanded its probe into a multi-state salmonella outbreak linked to charcuterie meats sold at Costco and Sam's Club, warning against consuming certain brands and advising people to throw away affected products. The agency reported 23 new cases in eight more states, bringing the total to 47 cases across 22 states, with Ohio having the highest number of infections. Most people infected with salmonella experience diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, and 10 individuals have been hospitalized due to the outbreak. Costco and the brands involved have issued voluntary recalls due to possible salmonella contamination.
