The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has introduced two new measures to reduce the use of hydroflourocarbons (HFCs), potent greenhouse gases used in refrigerators and air conditioners. The first measure restricts the use of HFCs in various products and equipment, while the second aims to improve their management and reuse. These actions align with the US goal of halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and follow the ratification of the global Kigali amendment and the passing of the 2020 American Innovation and Manufacturing Act.
