LAX Takes Action: Banning Single-Use Plastic Water Bottles to Cut Waste

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has implemented a ban on the sale of single-use plastic water bottles, as part of its efforts to reduce waste and combat climate change. The ban, which comes into effect immediately, follows a decision made by the L.A. Board of Airport Commissioners in 2021 to phase out single-use plastic bottles at LAX and Van Nuys airports. To support this transition, LAX has installed 60 new hydration stations throughout its terminals, encouraging passengers to bring reusable water bottles and help reduce plastic waste.
