US Approves Fourth Major Offshore Wind Farm, Revolution Wind, for Construction

The US Department of the Interior has approved Revolution Wind, a 704-megawatt offshore wind farm off the coasts of Rhode Island and Connecticut. This marks the fourth major offshore wind farm approved by the US, following Vineyard Wind, South Fork Wind, and Ocean Wind 1. Revolution Wind is expected to begin construction activities soon and come online in 2025, delivering clean energy to over 350,000 households and creating around 1,200 local jobs. The approval supports the Biden administration's goal of achieving 30 GW of offshore wind by 2030.
