DOJ Files Lawsuit Against SpaceX for Alleged Hiring Discrimination of Refugees and Asylum Seekers

The lawsuit alleges that between 2018 and 2022, SpaceX wrongly limited its hiring to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, in violation of federal law. The DOJ's investigation found that SpaceX recruiters and high-level officials actively discouraged asylees and refugees from seeking employment at the company. The lawsuit seeks fair consideration, back pay, civil penalties, and policy changes from SpaceX.
