Heavy rain fell along Boylston Street, but runners continued to brave the wet conditions. Evans Chebet of Kenya won the Men's division, while Hellen Obiri of Kenya won the Women's division. Marcel Hug of Switzerland won the men's wheelchair race, and Susannah Scaroni of the United States won the women's wheelchair division. Former Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz served as the grand marshal of the race, and Zdeno Chara, a longtime Boston Bruins captain, also competed.
