A team of students from Washington State University (WSU) has been awarded for their contribution to solving NASA's moon dust problem. The team developed a method to extract oxygen from moon dust, which could be used to support human life on the moon. The students were awarded the "Breakthrough of the Year" award by the university for their research.
Pat Chun, the athletic director of Washington State University, testified before Congress, calling the current name, image, likeness (NIL) environment toxic and unsustainable for student-athletes. Chun urged Congress to partner with the NCAA and member institutions to develop federal standards with transparency and enforceable safeguards. He also pointed out that women student-athletes are receiving just 16.2 percent of the college athletics NIL compensation, compared to 77 percent of the general NIL compensation earned by women.
