Archaeologists in Virginia have uncovered the nearly intact foundation of a 1700s schoolhouse for Black children, which was later used as a dormitory and is linked to the Williamsburg Bray School, one of the earliest schools for enslaved students in America. The site provides new insights into early American history, slavery, and education, with artifacts revealing centuries of layered history.
