"Northern Wisconsin Implements Frozen Road Laws: What You Need to Know"

The Wisconsin frozen road law is set to begin on Thursday for the northern half of the state, affecting Zone 1 and Zone 2, allowing vehicles hauling abrasives or salt for highway winter maintenance and certain forest products to carry more weight. The declaration is issued once the ground under highway pavement is frozen to a depth of at least 18 inches, and special permits for hauling the increased weights are not required in Zone 1 and Zone 2. However, the higher weight limits do not apply to county or local roads unless authorized by the local agency having maintenance authority.

Concerns over fuel capacity led to the last-minute arrangement of a special flight for 27 wrestlers. Additional flights were also organized for their return. This is not the first time sumo wrestlers have caused weight-related travel issues, as a viral photo in 2014 showed them packed onto a small passenger plane.

Controversy over Chinese airline's weight restrictions for flight attendants

Hainan Airlines has defended its policy of imposing weight requirements on flight attendants, stating that it is based on a "standard human body weight reference" and is used to evaluate and manage the crew's "health, physical shape and posture." The airline confirmed that the policy applies to all flight attendants regardless of gender and cannot be interpreted as a simple criterion to suspend a flight attendant. The policy has sparked backlash on social media, with critics arguing that being a flight attendant is a physically demanding job that should prioritize strength and stamina over maintaining low weight.
