"European Union's Crackdown on Russian Influence Operations Unveiled"
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) assisted Czech counter-intelligence in uncovering a pro-Russian network of influence on Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in Prague, allegedly led by Viktor Medvedchuk, an ally of Vladimir Putin. The network reportedly paid politicians to promote Russia and Putin in European media, published anti-Ukrainian and anti-European content, and aimed to increase pro-Russian representation in the European Parliament. This revelation has led to calls for an investigation into Russian influence and repercussions for MEPs who received Russian funds.
