The breach occurred due to a ransomware attack on a file transfer tool called MOVEit. The compromised information includes names, dates of birth, health insurance details, provider names, treatment cost information, and treatment information or diagnosis. Sutter Health is offering affected patients a year of free access to Experian IdentityWorks for credit monitoring. No social security numbers or financial information were impacted. This breach follows similar incidents involving the MOVEit tool affecting other organizations, including government agencies.

Grail, the maker of a blood test for cancer, has acknowledged that around 400 of its customers were mistakenly told last month that they might have the disease due to a software configuration issue from one of its vendors. The problem was not caused by inaccurate test results, and more than half of the people who received the letter in error had not yet had their blood drawn for the test. Beale Street Shooting Leaves 2 Injured and 2 Detained

Two people were injured in a shooting on Beale Street outside of Alfred's and Handy Park. Witnesses say the shooting occurred after a man got into a fight with a street vendor. The suspect has been detained along with another person, and he claims he was acting in self-defense. The vendor was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. The shooting occurred less than a week before the Beale Street Music Festival.
