A 16-month-old boy was fatally shot by his 5-year-old sibling in an apartment in Lafayette, Indiana. The older sibling accessed a handgun and shot the boy, who was identified as Isiah Johnson. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death. No arrests have been made, and the case remains under investigation. Gun safety advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety reported that there have been at least 63 unintentional shootings by children in the U.S. so far this year, resulting in 25 deaths and 39 injuries.
