An off-duty U.S. Park Police officer, Alexander Roy, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after unintentionally shooting and killing another off-duty officer, Jesse Brown Hernandez, at a gathering in Virginia. The incident occurred when Roy pulled the trigger on a gun he believed was unloaded. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
