North Korea Conducts Successful Test of Underwater Nuclear Drone
North Korea claims to have successfully tested a second type of nuclear-capable underwater attack drone, named "Haeil-2," designed to destroy naval vessels and ports. The test lasted four days and the drone traveled underwater for more than 71 hours before detonating a mock warhead near the eastern port city of Tanchon. The North Korean nuclear threat was discussed by the nuclear envoys of the United States, South Korea, and Japan, who called for stronger international efforts to crack down on illicit North Korean activities funding its weapons program. The envoys expressed concern about North Korea’s cybercrimes and illicit labor exports.
