Telangana High Court Grants Relief to Avinash Reddy in CBI Case.

The Telangana High Court has instructed the CBI not to arrest Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy until May 31, when the court will deliver its judgment. The CBI raised concerns about Avinash Reddy's lack of cooperation with the investigation into the murder of former Andhra Pradesh minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy, stating that the murder was a result of political rivalry between the two. The CBI also mentioned that Avinash Reddy's father and another accused individual did not cooperate with the investigation.

Jagan Reddy's Legal Battle with CBI over Viveka Case.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to take legal action against the CBI for falsely implicating him in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case and submitting false affidavits against him in the Telangana High Court. Jagan expressed severe anger over the CBI's submission of an additional counter affidavit, which claimed that he was informed about the death of Vivekananda Reddy much earlier than the actual time. Jagan instructed his lawyers to take legal action against the CBI for unnecessarily involving him in this case and damaging his reputation.

The Supreme Court has set aside the Telangana High Court's order directing the CBI to provide a written questionnaire in advance to MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy, who is under the agency's scanner in the murder case of former Andhra Pradesh Minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy. The top court observed that the high court has misapplied itself and passed an extraordinary order, and such orders prejudice the investigation, especially when the CBI is ascertaining the role of several accused.

Murder cases and political turmoil in Andhra Pradesh

The Supreme Court is set to hear an appeal filed by N Sunitha Reddy challenging the grant of protection from arrest to YSR Congress party MP Y S Avinash Reddy in connection with the murder of her father and former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy. Meanwhile, Vivekananda Reddy’s supposed second wife, Shameem, and her son Shahen Shah are reportedly planning to move the Telangana high court asking for a share in his properties, claiming to be legal heirs. This could give a new weapon to YSR Congress party and its MP Avinash Reddy, who have alleged that the illegal marriage of Viveka might be one of the reasons for his murder and there are property disputes within his family.
