Rapid Testing Urged as New COVID-19 Variant Surfaces
The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified a new variant of interest called EG5, which is a mutation of the Omicron variant. EG5 has been found in 51 countries and is similar in symptoms to Omicron. However, the WHO warns that the actual spread of EG5 may be more widespread than reported due to limited testing.
