"Tracking Hurricane Lee: From Terrifying Footage to Impact Risk and Safety Tips"

Storm chasers captured terrifying footage from inside the eye of Hurricane Lee, a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of 130 to 156 mph. The video shows lightning crackling throughout the storm as the jet-black eye looms overhead. The footage was shot by the U.S. Air Force Reserve's 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, known as the "Hurricane Hunters." The squadron flies specialized WC-130J Hercules aircraft equipped with meteorological sensors to collect weather data. Hurricane Lee is currently in the Atlantic Ocean and is expected to move north, but its impact on the U.S. Atlantic coast is still uncertain.
