U.S. health officials now recommend that gay and bisexual men and transgender women at high risk of STDs consider taking doxycycline as a morning-after pill to prevent chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. This new guideline, known as doxy PEP, involves taking a 200 mg dose within three days of unprotected sex and is the first new STD prevention tool in decades.
