Microsoft acknowledged stability and performance issues in Windows 11 24H2 following recent updates, which caused errors, system slowdowns, and gaming problems. A fix has been included in the optional KB5062660 update, expected to be widely available in the August 2025 Patch Tuesday update.
Nvidia's latest driver patch notes acknowledge stability issues affecting Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh users with 13th or 14th Gen CPUs, directing them to consult Intel for assistance. The issues include stability problems, out of video memory errors, and crashes during shader compilation. Intel has acknowledged the reports and advises users to contact customer support for help. The problem stems from Intel's motherboard partners automatically setting CPU power limits to 4096W, causing widespread problems with the power-hungry Raptor Lake architecture, which exceeds Intel's defined default specifications.
NVIDIA has identified stability issues with Intel's 13th and 14th generation Raptor Lake Core processors, particularly in the high-performance K-series models, and is advising affected users to contact Intel for assistance. Intel has acknowledged the issues and set up a support website, but a definitive solution has not yet been provided. The problems are linked to the high operational frequencies of the K-series chips and have been prevalent during demanding tasks such as gaming with Unreal Engine 5. Temporary remedies like downclocking or undervolting the CPUs have been suggested, and affected users are encouraged to utilize Intel’s support resources while investigations continue.
