A man shot and killed by law enforcement during an armed standoff in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, was identified as Tyler Abel, a corrections officer with the Minnesota Department of Corrections. Abel had been hired in April 2022 and was well-liked by his colleagues. Law enforcement responded to a domestic disturbance call and found Abel holding a hunting rifle.
