Corsair has introduced the MP700 PRO Gen5 SSD lineup, offering faster transfer speeds of up to 12,400 MB/s and 11,800 MB/s for read and write respectively. The SSDs come with the option of air or liquid cooling, including Corsair's "HYDRO X" heatsink. The MP700 PRO is priced at $189.99 for the 1TB and $324.99 for the 2TB variants, with heatsink-less options available at slightly lower prices.
PCI Special Interest Group (PCI-SIG) has released draft specifications version 0.3 of PCIe Express 7.0, which is expected to feature speeds of up to 128 GT/s per pin and double the bandwidth for PCIe devices. However, the technology is not expected to be in consumer markets until at least 2027, and prior generations, such as PCIe 6.0, are still in the testing stages. PCI-SIG is also working on finalizing its PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 6.0 technology, with two different cabling specifications expected to launch by Q4 2023.
