DEA finally revokes license of drug distributor for opioid crisis failures.

The DEA has revoked the license of Morris & Dickson, one of the largest drug distributors in the US, for failing to flag thousands of suspicious orders during the opioid crisis. The company shipped 12,000 unusually large orders of opioids to pharmacies and hospitals between 2014 and 2018, but filed just three suspicious order reports with the DEA. The revocation comes after a yearslong delay and a recent AP investigation. Morris & Dickson has invested millions of dollars to revamp its compliance systems and hopes to negotiate a settlement.
