Amazon Expands Renewable Energy Reach with Solar Farms in Michigan and Maryland
Amazon has announced its first renewable energy project in Michigan, a new 85-megawatt solar farm to be built in Van Buren County. The solar project will help power Amazon's local operations and provide clean energy to the surrounding communities. Amazon currently has 479 wind and solar projects worldwide and aims to generate over 71,900 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually. The company has set a record for the most renewable energy purchased by a company in a single year and plans to have 90% of its electricity from renewable sources by the end of 2022.
