Richardson’s 104 mph arrest triggers Florida’s Super Speeder crackdown
Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested in Florida after allegedly speeding 104 mph in a 65 mph zone, under the state’s new Super Speeder law, facing charges of dangerous excessive speeding plus multiple traffic violations. Police released bodycam footage of the stop, and her boyfriend, fellow Olympian Christian Coleman, arrived and was later arrested on related charges after authorities found drug paraphernalia. This marks Richardson’s second arrest in six months and comes after a prior domestic-violence incident, highlighting potential legal jeopardy under the new law.
