Hong Kong's Securities Regulator Explores Spot Crypto ETFs and Fintech Solutions
Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is considering allowing retail investors to purchase spot crypto Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), as long as new risks are addressed. The SFC has taken a progressive approach to crypto throughout the year, initially restricting retail investors from accessing crypto spot ETFs but later updating its rules to allow a broader range of investors to engage in spot-crypto and ETF investing. Issuers of listed crypto products would need to publish risk disclosure statements.
