Several schools and businesses across the Tri-State area have been impacted by an Air Quality Alert due to the smoky haze from wildfires in Canada. Many schools have canceled outdoor activities, and some have even canceled classes altogether. New York City public schools have canceled all outdoor activities, and other districts are taking it day by day. The air quality alerts caution "sensitive groups," including children, older adults, and people with lung diseases.
