
Trial Begins for Eight Accused in French Teacher's Murder Over Cartoons
Eight individuals are on trial in France for their alleged involvement in the 2020 murder of teacher Samuel Paty, who was beheaded after showing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad in a class on free speech. The accused include Brahim Chnina, who allegedly incited hatred against Paty, and two young men charged with complicity in terrorist murder. The trial, which involves charges of participating in a criminal terrorist act, is expected to last until December.
