Chinese phone makers Vivo and Transion are reportedly set to beat Samsung in releasing a slider phone with a rollable display. While Samsung has been showcasing rollable display concepts, Vivo and Transion are said to be working on prototypes that feature a slidable panel with a rollable display made by CSOT. The advantage of this design is that it can be more compact and avoids the thickness and heft associated with foldable phones. Vivo's slider phone may resemble the Oppo X 2021 prototype, featuring a retractable OLED display and a proprietary Roll Motor powertrain to ensure a seamless screen experience.
