"ESA Resolves JUICE Radar Antenna Issue"

The radar instrument on the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE) spacecraft, called Radar for Icy Moons Exploration (RIME), has not fully deployed its 16-meter antenna as expected in the week after its April 13 launch. Engineers suspect that a pin in the antenna is stuck, keeping the antenna stowed. ESA is considering other measures to deploy the antenna. JUICE, which will arrive in the Jupiter system in 2031, is one of ESA’s flagship science missions.

JUICE spacecraft captures first space selfies on journey to Jupiter's icy moons.

The Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE) spacecraft, equipped with several cameras, has taken its first "selfies" from space, capturing stunning images with Earth as a backdrop. JUICE's primary mission is to probe beneath the icy shells of the Jovian moons Europa, Ganymede and Callisto to investigate the subsurface oceans believed to lurk beneath the icy surfaces of these large moons of Jupiter. The spacecraft will use a scientific camera to take high-resolution images of Jupiter and the icy moons when it reaches the Jovian system in 2031 after its eight-year journey.
