A retired Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper, Michael Griffin, was killed while assisting at a crash scene in Panola County. Griffin stopped to check on one of the drivers involved in the crash when the vehicle rolled on top of him, resulting in his death. A retired Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper and sworn Law Enforcement Officer with the Department of Public Safety, identified as 62-year-old Michael "Mike" Griffin, was killed when a vehicle rolled on top of him at a crash scene on Highway 6 in Panola County.
