Tragic Loss: Retired MHP Trooper and Sworn LEO Killed Assisting at Crash Scene

A retired Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper and sworn Law Enforcement Officer with the Department of Public Safety, identified as 62-year-old Michael "Mike" Griffin, was killed when a vehicle rolled on top of him at a crash scene on Highway 6 in Panola County. Griffin had stopped to check on the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Griffin was described as a dedicated public servant and a beloved friend, and his death is being mourned by many. The crash is currently under investigation.
