"Higher Bonuses Tempt Naval Aviators to Become Commanding Officers"

The Navy aims to retain highly talented aviators and flight officers with valuable skill sets and leadership potential. Retaining pilots has been a challenge for the Navy, but not as severe as the struggle faced by the surface warfare community. Similar retention programs are also available for reserve pilots.
