Suspect Sentenced to Life for Killing Little Italy Restaurant Manager
Samuel Wise Jr. pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, first-degree escape, and gun charges in the killing of Chesley Patterson, a Little Italy restaurant manager. Wise was sentenced to life with all but 50 years suspended, followed by three years of supervised probation upon release for the murder charge. Patterson was shot during a robbery spree and died from a gunshot wound to the chest. The defendant showed no remorse during the court proceedings, and the judge remarked that his tears were for himself. Evidence, including fingerprints and cellphone records, linked Wise to the crime.
