Pointe Living is a nine-storey, environmentally sustainable apartment development in Sydney designed by Luigi Rosselli Architects, featuring unique layouts, private and communal outdoor spaces, and innovative use of recycled materials, aimed at addressing urban housing needs and enhancing resident privacy and quality of life.
The LRM House, designed by Studio AG Arquitetura, is located in São Paulo and features a narrow and long site with dense neighbors on both sides. The house is characterized by its spatial distribution, which reflects the residents' love for art. The ground floor is designed with a dissolution of solids and voids, creating a double-height ceiling wrapped in a glass façade that allows for natural light to fill the space. The upper floor consists of three suites and a living room, while a third floor hosts an office, gym, and sauna. The house also incorporates sustainable features such as a cistern for water reuse and photovoltaic panels for energy efficiency.
The Canto Verde House, designed by Kiti Vieira Arquitetura, is a modular and sustainable residence located in Paraty, Brazil. The client desired a simple, spacious, and low-maintenance home. The house consists of six identical modules, with three dedicated to the social area and three for bedrooms, bathrooms, and a laundry room. The design takes advantage of the terrain's east face for optimal views and natural light. Carefully chosen materials, including concrete blocks and glass bricks, were used for durability and aesthetic appeal. The elevated structure with large eaves helps preserve the house in the humid environment. The project was completed in 2022.
Heide & von Beckerath has transformed a former mirror factory in Fürth, Germany, into a communal residential scheme with a social and environmental focus. The Spiegelfabrik development consists of two end buildings and a connecting building that is accessed along alternating balconies. The building joint venture’s aspiration for community-oriented living in diverse and generation-spanning co-housing led to a mix of cooperative and owner-occupied accommodation. The building is a hybrid construction with 80% of its external walls made from prefabricated timber panels. Sustainability plays a major role in the design, construction, and operation of the Spiegelfabrik building, and also in neighborly living.
The MDP House, designed by Vinklu, is a ground floor house located in Piatra Neamt, Romania. The house is designed without hallways and features a perimeter veranda that dissolves the boundary between the inside and outside. The living room is vertically developed, offering a natural continuation of the living space and a concentration of space at the scale of each user through the "panorama" window. The house is executed with local materials and teams and is designed for future development.
KS arquitetos has designed LC House, a residential project located in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The house features a solid brick masonry structure with few concrete pillars, and the wood, bricks, and concrete are all left exposed. The design prioritizes natural light and ventilation, with three facades featuring several openings that face the garden in the front. The interior is spacious and integrated, with a central axis featuring double-height ceilings and large openings. The house also includes a balcony on the ground floor and a terrace on the second floor, both offering beautiful views of the surroundings. The project aims to revisit the use of local materials and manpower in Latin American architecture.
