Atlantic Weather Update: Tropical Depression and Severe Thunderstorms.

Tropical Depression 4 has formed in the Atlantic Ocean and is expected to become a tropical storm named Cindy later today or tomorrow. It is predicted to pass north of the Leeward Islands and become a remnant low by Tuesday. The system is weak and models are not yet accurate in predicting its path. Tropical Storm Bret is also being tracked.

Tropical Storm Arlene weakens to remnant low, while Tropical Depression #2 brings rain to Florida.

Tropical Storm Arlene, the first named storm of the 2023 Hurricane Season, is expected to weaken into a tropical depression and become a remnant low soon. It is not a threat to Louisiana and there are no watches or warnings in effect. The storm is dealing with dry air and wind shear, which are not conducive for further development. The biggest threat for this system is locally heavy rain for portions of the southern Florida Peninsula.
