A woman was killed in a shooting in the Glenfair neighborhood of Northeast Portland, making it the 65th homicide in the city this year. The suspect, Donnell L. Watson, has been arrested and is facing charges of manslaughter and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Police are not seeking any other suspects in connection with the killing.
NASA astronaut Frank Rubio and his two Russian Soyuz spacecraft crewmates were originally scheduled to return to Earth six months ago, but due to a spacecraft leak, their mission was extended to a record-breaking year in space. Rubio spoke about the challenges of a year in orbit, including maintaining mental sharpness. The crew was supposed to evacuate using a SpaceX Crew Dragon in case of emergency, but fortunately, a replacement Soyuz arrived, allowing them to stay on board until the end of September. Rubio officially broke the U.S. record for continuous days in space, logging 355 days.
